4th Of July Backyard Prep & DIY

The summer season is upon us which means all the backyard BBQs and picnics will be in full swing. While this is an exciting time, especially as more of us are able to get together, it also means that our yards may be a little lacking after the last few months. Maybe it’s time they got a little TLC. But have no fear--Pioneer Landscape Centers is here! Take a look at our 4th of July backyard preparation tips and DIYs!

#1. MAKE YOUR FRONT YARD FESTIVE!

Who says it’s only a party in the back? The party starts as soon as guests see your home, which is why you’ll want to take a little time to spruce up your front yard.

From patriotic planters to painted stars in the yard, the front yard should be the start of the festivities! For additional social distancing guides, you can even add various seating arrangements in your yard to allow guests to sit together who belong to the same inner circle.

#2. ADD A POP OF COLOR

Of course, we encourage you to mulch your flower beds and trim your grass, but something you may not have considered is adding a pop of color to your backyard landscape.

Our turquoise fire glass compliments any backyard living space. Simply add the glass to fire pits, use it as part of your home decor, within water features, or mixed into your landscaping.

Did we mention it’s eco-friendly? Our decorative glass comes from recycled glass that is sorted into colors, melted down, fractured, sized, and tumbled.

#3. MORE S’MORES PLEASE!

Is it a summer holiday without a campfire to make s’mores? We think not! You may be looking for a weekend DIY to create the perfect fire pit for your next summer get-together, and we have just the guide for you.

#4. LIGHT UP THE NIGHT (NOT JUST WITH FIREWORKS!)

Nothing is more patriotic than having sparklers in hand as you enjoy the open night sky. However, when dry weather has you putting a pause on the fireworks, you’ll still need to light up the night.

You can easily do this with a little DIY and some patience. Have trees in your backyard? Connect string lights from the trees, or from your patio.

If you want to add a little spice to your outdoor lighting, there are great outdoor lanterns and LED lights that can give your backyard a welcoming glow while making sure your guests can see their way around.
