2023 Landscaping Trends
#1. Grow Your Own Bouquet
Bouquets are great gifts for that special girl (or guy, we like flowers too!) in your life. It’s a way for people to show their love and affection. Whether it be for a first date, a relationship milestone, or a random day, there’s nothing quite like beautiful flowers. It doesn’t even have to be romantic, there are several people in your life that would appreciate a bouquet, maybe even yourself. But this is just the motivation for a bouquet.
The fun in growing your own bouquet is growing your own flowers and keeping track of how big they get. Depending on the type of bouquet you want to make, you can grow several different flowers or a large batch of your favorites.
There’s also no one way to grow a bouquet, which has led to many people following this landscaping trend and producing many different results. Before people were growing flowers to serve as yard decorations. Now more and more people are getting the idea to grow them with a purpose. You don’t have to go to the flower shop to get someone flowers.
If you’re unsure of what kind of topsoil and mulch is good for your flowers, our experts can help you.
#2. Using Container Gardens
This new 2023 landscaping trend is about how we grow a garden. With more and more people living in apartments, even in small towns, many don’t want to make gardens they can’t take with them. When you plant something in the ground, if you want to take it with you, you have to dig it up and try to put it in a container before planting them somewhere else. Save for the most experienced gardeners, this process can lead to a lot of plants dying.
In 2023, people are making big containers from scratch or around their homes, filling them with dirt, soil, and nutrients, and then planting smaller plants in there. This way when they move, they can take their plants without risking any damage.
It also allows gardeners to move their plants around at will. Rather than hope that the sunlight and rainfall will be consistent with what you expected, you can move it around. You can’t predict nature or expect it to behave as you need it to. Container gardens are the solution.
When you’re trying to find the right soil for your container garden, we have you covered.
#3. Having a Meadow Instead of a Lawn
What if instead of grass, most of your lawn was flowers and plants, with only a stone path separating it? Fill your lawn with drought-tolerant and pollinator-friendly plants. They don’t require chemicals or mowing. It’s all about putting in the work upfront for an easier time later. Some plants that look good in meadows include:
- Larkspur
- Cosmos
- Black-Eyed Susan
- Zinnia
- Penstemon
- Switch Grass
What flowers you can grow, and how successful your meadow is, are affected by the region you live.
If you do go through with a meadow, make sure to get hardscape like tiles and stone so you have a path you walk through.
#4. Going Vertical With Your Plants
The sky is the limit with your garden. You do not have to plant all of your flowers, vegetables, and fruits on the earth. You can use container gardens and stack them with some special hangers. You can start growing plants that resemble foliage or vines without the structural destruction to your walls or fences.
Some plants worth considering for vertical gardens include:
- Arbor
- Trellis
- Pergola
Again, what flowers you can grow, and how successful your meadow is, are affected by the region you live. Some flowers can’t survive the added or lack of moisture and sunlight in your environment.
